New report: governments not doing enough to improve pharma market transparency

A new report by Wemos and Health Action International shows that governments are lagging behind in implementing the World Health Assembly (WHA) resolution on increasing transparency in the pharmaceutical sector. This hampers global access to affordable medicines and accountability for decisions that affect public health. The report highlights the steps taken in selected regions and countries to improve pharmaceutical transparency and provides recommendations. Read more

Draft pandemic agreement possible stepping stone

After more than three years, the WHO Member States concluded negotiations on a draft pandemic agreement. The proposal aims to strengthen global collaboration on prevention, preparedness and response to future pandemic threats. We are cautiously optimistic about the provisions in the draft agreement.
