Farewell event director Mariëlle Bemelmans

After nine inspiring years of leadership, our director, Mariëlle Bemelmans is moving on to something new. We held a lovely goodbye event at our office, where we warmly received partners from civil society organizations, universities, the ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs, and family. Our response to the coalition agreement: opportunities for global health

Last Friday, D66, CDA and VVD presented their coalition agreement. Wemos welcomes the fact that, after years of cutbacks, there will now be (modest) investment in international cooperation again. However, we would like to see more ambition for global health justice. Read more

The new 2026-2030 GFF strategy: wins and missed opportunities

The Global Financing Facility (GFF) launched its new 2026-2030 strategy ‘Transform 2030: Transforming Health Systems, Saving Lives‘ during the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) High-Level Forum on December 6th in Tokyo. We notice that the GFF did take into account some of the points we raised during the process, but that some of the more structural asks are still only partially reflected. Read more
