Open letter calling for pharmaceutical transparency

On October 28th, we handed over an open letter to the Dutch Ministry of Health calling for increased transparency in the pharmaceutical sector. The letter was signed by numerous experts and organizations, including the Dutch Patient Federation and Doctors Without Borders Netherlands. The current lack of transparency is leading to inexplicably high medicine prices, which weigh heavily on healthcare budgets. Early next year we will also present the letter to the Dutch House of Representatives.

On 19 May, Wemos moderated the side-event 'The Future of Global Health Financing', hosted by the governments of the Netherlands and Indonesia, at the World Health Assembly. Policymakers, experts and stakeholders explored best practices in health financing, assessed the roles of national, regional, and global actors, and highlighted actionable solutions for sustainable health systems.
