The recently published Dutch global health strategy contains fine ambitions to contribute effectively and sustainably to global health. It speaks of a ‘whole of government’ and ‘health in all policies’ approach to coherent global health policy. Nice, because we believe that government-wide cooperation is essential. So why does the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation’s ‘Policy Coherence for Development Action Plan’ not include a broad focus on global health?
