Dutch global health strategy: positive start, but execution is key

After years of lobbying by Wemos and other civil society organisations, the Dutch government published the long-awaited Global Health Strategy on 21 October. The Covid-19 pandemic showed the world that health has no borders. This strategy can be a powerful tool for the Netherlands to contribute effectively and sustainably to global health. Provided it is executed with the right urgency, vigour, and resources, and attention for the gaps in access to pharmaceuticals, and public-private partnerships.
